Daishoji Hanami Matsuri 10-11 April

Postby japanna » Thu Mar 11, 2010 3:26 pm

Daishoji Hanami Matsuri will take place in Kaga on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th April in Kaga. The Kaga Jets would like to invite you down to sit and relax under some booooooootiful cherry blossoms, take a boat trip down the river, watch an impressive Lion's Head dance and enjoy all the usual festival stalls and food.

All activities are within walking distance of Daishoji station. The Kaga folks will be happy to accommodate anyone who'd like to stay over. Get in touch if you'd like to come down.

Also, the good people at Kaga International Assocation are also offering a Daishoji tour on Saturday April 10th from 10am - 3.15pm. The tour costs Y2,500 and includes lunch, a boat ride, temple fees, tea ceremony, transport from Kaga Onsen station and museum entry fees. For anyone who's only got one day in Daishoji this is a great idea.

Details can be found in the Spring Issue of 'Eye on Kanazawa' http://www.eyeon.jp/005_daishoji.html

To apply to take part in the tour go to http://monitor.tabimati.net/ There are only 5 spaces left.

(The one where the Geisha come out and do their water-shooting dance thingy on the river?)

Last year there was a special performance of the Etchu-owara 'Kaze no Bon' down Higashi-chaya. It were well good. I hope they do it again this year.

Shame about the Enyukai...

Also, for football people, there will be practice the following day on Sunday, April 11th, in Komatsu (very close to Kaga), so if you plan on staying down south, why not play a game of pick-up the following afternoon? :o
