The add media function seems a bit off. Since my pc is archaic, I use the browser uploader. Until now it has functioned very well. Today when I tried to upload from a URL (j-foto), all that came up was the caption underlined.
Since it's not possible to upload 'vertical' photos from the computer, (they come out sideways), I rely on this function.
Your technical expertise is much appreciated and sorry for the lack of mine ;-)

Can you try again? I did fix one thing. However, I know the Flash uploader DOESN'T work if you have Flash 10 installed. Click the link that looks like this:

You are using the Flash uploader. Problems? Try the Browser uploader instead.

to use the non-Flash uploader.

Try refreshing the post page before you start.
